Grab a drink at the coolest rooftop spot in JHB, The Living Room

IT ALL STARTED IN 2012...
...when the Living Room was born out of a desire to participate in the urban revival of inner city Johannesburg. The development of the Maboneng Precinct (meaning 'place of light' in Sotho) was our first urban playground as landscape designers to ride the wave of positive change, after which the Main Change Rooftop become our designated space in 2012, to establish a tranquil sanctum for the public to enjoy. Our goal at the Living Room is to immerse our guests in the profound beauty of a lush, serene rooftop terrace surrounded by panoramic views of our beloved City. We hope to share this little slice of paradise with as many people as we possibly can.

The Living Room is the brainchild of designer turned entrepreneur Taryn Jacobson, master-craftsmen turned urban landscaper Wayne Brodie, together with a hand picked crew of event planners, chefs, floral artists and a lively service team, they've nurtured their original vision into an authentic entity which Living Room clientele has literally watched grow, from its inception.

FOR THE LOVE OF PLANTS
Our admiration and adoration of all things natural is what drives us at the Living Room. We want to welcome our guests into an environment that is an inspiring example of how we, as a society, can seamlessly integrate plant life into our urban habitat.

FOR THE LOVE OF PEOPLE
Coupled with our affinity for things that grow is a desire to facilitate the best possible experience for our guests. We channel all the energy we have into ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors leaves with a smile.
