Carnival City to stage a family styled el fresco Christmas feast

True to tradition, the four star Carnival City Hotel will be staging a festive, family-styled Christmas buffet – with all the trimmings – on Christmas Day. This year though, the sumptuous feast will be hosted on the hotel’s pool deck. Guests will be treated to a lavish buffest featuring traditional Christmas dishes and desserts with a contemporary and decidedly South African twist.

“If you want a bells-and-whistles Christmas meal but don’t want to cook it, you can. Join us for an indulgent, el fresco Christmas feast at our poolside. Expect a mouthwatering spread and a magical atmosphere,” encourages Carnival City’s Marketing Manager, Michelle Smith.

For starters, there is a choice of exciting salad dishes including sous vide chicken salad with heirloom tomato salad and basil; roasted veg, walnut and golden raisin cous cous salad; green salad with rocket, baby gem lettuce, cucumber and green olives, and sweet and sour roasted beetroot, with mandarin orange dressing.

For mains there is a choice of warm side dishes such as fragrant pilaf rice; garlic and herb potatoes, and beautifully roasted vegetables. These are served with a selection of meat and fish dishes such as cajun and garlic roasted turkey roll; roasted gammon; baked line fish; mussel veloute; smoked salmon baked penne, as well as beef, mushroom and potato hot pot.

The feast is topped with decadent desserts including lavender panna cotta; white and dark chocolate mousse; chocolate éclairs with a coffee chantilly cream; apple crumble with custard, and traditional Christmas pudding with custard.

There are two sittings; one at 12h00 until15h00 and another at 16h00 until18h00. Seats are limited to preserve the intimate atmosphere. Booking is essential on 011 898 7027or 7225. The cost per head is R275 per adult and R137.50 per child under 10 years old.
