Afro Goes East tour kicks off at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena

The rich and diverse sounds of various well-loved African artists will fill Carnival City’s ample Big Top Arena when the Afro Goes East tour kicks off on 8 October 2016. Afro music lovers are promised an encompassing and exuberant show with all their favorite artists collaborating. Collaborating for the event are Musa Sukwene, Robbie Malinga, Ringo Mandlingozi, the Jaziel Brothers and Amanda Black.

Musa Sukwene, known to both Afro music lovers and those of other genres needs little introduction.  Having won South African Idols in 2013, Sukwene has not stopped shining and at the announcement of this year’s top 10 Idols contestants, he performed his brand new hit single, “Mthande” from his album Mr Serious which recently reached gold status.

“Mthande” was created when Sukwene teamed up with the prolific music producer and singer, Robbie Malinga, who will also be performing as part of the Afro Goes East tour. Malinga, who has produced for the likes of Zahara, Nhlanhla Nkiza and Nomfusi is not to be missed.
The Jaziel Brothers, Luthando and Ntobeko Ngcizel, originally from The Eastern Cape, grew up in Klerksdorp and now live in Johannesburg.  They made their mark on the South African music scene with the release of suitably named debut album, The Beginning. Their performance at Afro Goes East will be a special blend of Afro, Soul, Pop, Gospel and Kwaito.

Tickets are available at Computicket and prices range from R175 per person.  Doors open at 19H00 and at 20H00 audiences can prepare to be serenaded by South Africa’s best.
