LAST CHANCE! TUTANKHAMUN EXHIBITION MUST CLOSE 12 APRIL

The TUTANKHAMUN – His Tomb and His Treasures exhibition at Silverstar on the West Rand is in its final weeks and must close on 12 April 2015. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the wonders of the famous boy-king’s tomb at the time it was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922.

If you are spending time at home over the Easter weekend or if you haven’t yet visited this captivating international exhibition, why not make a date now or during the April school holidays for a memorable family outing. Open seven days a week, the exhibition also has extended hours on public holidays from 09h00 – 21h00 (last admission 90 minutes prior to closing).

This not-to-be missed exhibition has been seen by over 60 000 visitors since it opened on 2 December 2014.   Critics and visitors of all ages rave about the rewarding experience of being so close to the story of King Tutankhamun.    Leading Egyptologist and archaeologist, Dr Zahi Hawass, who recently visited Johannesburg for a series of lectures says, “This exhibit is unique. It shows how it all happened.” You need not be a history buff, or a budding Egyptologist to marvel at the more than 1000 exact replicas of King Tut’s treasures on display in one venue, making the exhibition unique.

TUTANKHAMUN offers families a truly exceptional experience as they are guided through the exploration “journey” with the help of an audio guide (included in the ticket price). The audio guide is available in an adult and a child version, which makes the experience informative, enjoyable and fulfilling for the whole family. As with all facilities at Silverstar, the exhibition is open seven days a week, even during load shedding.

It takes about two hours to walk through the exhibition, although many visitors stay for longer.  There’s a shop carrying official programmes, mementos made in Egypt and other quality merchandise.  The fascinating “King Tut” exhibition at Silverstar is an educational and entertaining outing so book now, before it’s too late.  The exhibition must close on 12 April 2015.
