DE LUXE VALENTINE'S DINNER À DEUX AT NEDERBURG ON FEBRUARY 14

The Red Table restaurant in Nederburg’s historic manor house is ramping up the romance this Valentine's Day with a four-course dinner designed to turn on the taste buds to the highest setting. Priced at R650 per couple, the sensuous spread includes not only a 750ml bottle of Nederburg’s refreshingly crisp bubbly, Première Cuvée Brut, but also a very tempting amuse bouche of smoked salmon to whet the appetite.

After popping the cork (and any questions!), and a chance to savour the tingling sparkle of the wine in your glass, you'll be served lemon thyme-flavoured  prawn ceviche; a delicately smoked duck liver terrine; bone marrow-crusted beef and, to crown it all, a hazelnut chocolate spring roll and white chocolate mousse.

The special Valentine's menu is offered at both lunch and supper times on Saturday, February 14 only and booking is essential. No à la carte offerings will be available that day.

For those who prefer an al fresco Valentine's experience, from Tuesday, February 10, to Sunday, February 15, The Red Table is planning special picnic baskets of delicious delights served under the shady trees. This option, available for lunch only except on February 14 when evening picnics are also on offer, includes a serious selection of savoury and sweet treats, mineral water as well as a bottle of the same Première Cuvée Brut offered to restaurant diners. Picnic baskets, at R250 per head, need to be ordered and paid for 24 hours before the time.

So other visitors can join in the Valentine's celebrations that week, there will also be a special sweet pairing of Rose's Nougat with Nederburg Foundation Rosé 2014, and Rose's Turkish Delight with Nederburg's The Beautiful Lady Gewűrztraminer 2013 .  If you choose to try one of these pairings, you stand a chance of winning one of three hampers, each with two bottles of the wines mentioned.
