Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa, a leading hotel within the Cradle of Humankind, celebrated its 10th birthday the first week of December 2014. To mark this momentous occasion the team had several surprises in store, one of which was the handover of a R10 000 cheque to Radio Jacaranda’s charity fund, by General Manager, Mano Sequiera to Rian van Heerden and Dianne Broodryk from the Radio Jacaranda crew.
“We have been very blessed to provide luxury accommodation and pleasant stays to guests for ten years” Mr Sequiera explained. “We thought it would be appropriate to plough back some goodness and are happy to hand over a cheque of R10 000 to Radio Jacaranda’s Good Morning Angel/ Christmas fund. They have been doing some sterling work and we would like to support their effort.”
A host of exciting sales promotions kicked off on 1 December 2014 and will be valid until end January. These include:

·         The first ten people who called Central Reservations (08611 48866) on 1 December 2014 and booked for two consecutive nights in December or January, received their 3rd night free (B&B).
·         For every ten rooms booked with a conference the booking agent receives one free room.
·         Book group accommodation to the value of R10 000 and receive ten complimentary back, neck and shoulder massages from Kloofzicht Spa.
·         Book ten or more Spa treatments and receive a free full body massage.
·         Terms and conditions are available from our website. www.kloofzicht.co.za
Along with its 10th birthday the Kloofzicht brand received a fresh face and new look: “The Kloofzicht Hotel and Kloofzicht Spa logos have undergone a nip and tuck, leaving it clean and simple; the websites have been revised and now sport user friendly Wordpress formats enabling the user to engage with more ease with the lodge and its social media components. The new format is exceptionally mobile/ cell friendly,” Guvon Hotels Group Marketing Manager Christa Badenhorst explains.
“One of the first applications for our new logo is our 10 year celebration wines, bottled and printed by Delheim who has been a loyal supporter and supplier since we opened,” Ms Badenhorst concluded.
The vision for this venue comes a long way and Managing Director of Guvon Hotels & Spas Kosie Pansegrouw shared his dream with us:

“Fourteen years ago I had  a vision to establish an exclusive 5 star lodge creating an experience similar  to one in the Dullstroom area, combining fly fishing with a typical Bushveld feel”, says Mr Pansegrouw. “This had to be complete with game and birdlife, within easy reach of Johannesburg and Pretoria. Legislation proved tricky – it took four years to get approval -  but once we had the go ahead it only took ten months to build and furnish the first phase of Kloofzicht Lodge. By popular demand the next two phase were completed within 5 years after opening, which included Kloofzicht Spa.”

“Looking forward, our main focus is to increase the customer base by introducing new products and activities to our market as well as paying strict attention to service delivery and the adaption thereof to satisfy the ever changing needs of our corporate or leisure guests. Unfortunately, rooms and facilities expansion is not possible at this stage due to strict development legislation within the Cradle of Humankind despite the obvious advantages it would have for tourism to this archeologically rich area. Hopefully the mind-set of the authorities will change in the not too distant future to allow us to eventually develop Kloofzicht Lodge to its full potential”.
A fun Social Media competition marks the tenth birthday of Kloofzicht Lodge -  a delightful ”Then and now” photo competition. Visit the Guvon Hotels Facebook page  from 1 December onwards to enter this competition where we have taken photos of  ten of the original opening team of the hotel. Facebookers need to match the toddler picture with the 2014 version. A two night stay at Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa is up for grabs for the lucky winner. The competition closes end January, giving all enough time to share with your Facebook friends.
