BITOU MUNICIPALITY & CEMAIR ANNOUNCE SCHEDULED FLIGHTS TO PLETTENBERG BAY

The Bitou Municipality & CemAir are pleased to announce the launch of a scheduled flight service commencing on Friday 28 March 2014 between OR Tambo International Airport and Plettenberg Bay with connecting flights between Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town International Airport.

The schedule will operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with flights leaving Johannesburg at 09:00 and Plettenberg Bay at 16h00. Connecting flights between Plett and Cape Town depart from Plett at 12h00 and from Cape Town International at 14h00.

Tickets are priced from R1,799 one way (all taxes included) for the JHB-Plett route and from R1,449 one way (all taxes included) for the Plett-Cape Town route.

All flights will be conducted on a Beech 1900 aircraft from the CemAir fleet.

Bookings can be made online at www.flycemair.co.za or directly through the CemAir reservations office by e-mail to plett@cemair.co.za or telephonically on (011) 395 4473.

The first scheduled flight to Plettenberg Bay will be welcomed on Friday 28 March 2014 by amongst others, the Honourable Mayor, Mr Memory Booysen.

CemAir is a privately owned airline based at OR Tambo International Airport. The company is licensed by the South African Air Service Licensing Council to operate both domestically and internationally on a scheduled and non-scheduled basis and owns a fleet of 10 Beech 1900 twin turboprop aircraft and 3 Canadair CRJ regional Jets. CemAir operates existing routes to Margate and the Northern Cape.

CemAir has identified Plettenberg Bay as a popular destination which would benefit from the introduction of a scheduled airline service. This jewel of the Garden Route is appreciated by South African holiday makers and international guests alike, with the long drive to George Airport currently resulting in unnecessary inconvenience.

Market research has also identified the need for a service between Plettenberg Bay and Cape Town and CemAir’s launch schedule has thus been optimised to accommodate these customers.

We look forward to being of service to you.
