Sedgwick's toasts all South Africans this
Heritage DaY
Toast the traditions that make South Africa and its people so incredibly
unique this National Heritage Day (24 September) and share the warmth, the love
and the moment with one of the country’s most iconic brands, Sedgwick’s
Original Old Brown.
Whether you are huddled around the braai with your closest friends, or
hosting a festive family get-together, Sedgwick’s will certainly be great
company. Add it as a dash to your salad dressing, marinade or sauce for your
steak or serve it as a refreshing drink with lemonade or ginger ale over
ice.
Captain James Sedgwick and his legacy of Sedgwick's Original Old Brown
is imbedded in the heritage of South Africa. After braving the seas with his
tea-trading clipper called Undine, he fell in love with South Africa and opened
his very own tavern in Cape Town, known as The Captain's Room, in 1853. There
he lured crowds with his tales of the high seas. His sons
continued the business he started and in 1916 launched South Africa’s favourite
fortified wine. Today, his
charisma and sense of adventure is captured in each bottle of Sedgwick's
Original Old Brown.
Sedgwick’s Original Old Brown is available from supermarkets and liquor
outlets nationwide for about R28 per 750ml bottle.
