Relive the greatest golfing
moments - AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open
|
Heritage Golf Club became the
first golf course internationally to host a tri-sanctioned tournament between
three of the leading men's professional golf tours, namely the European,
Asian and Sunshine Tours. The widely acclaimed resort layout showed that it
was not only that, but represented a serious challenge to the visiting
professionals by restricting the winning score to just 13 under par with the
cream of the field rising to the top on the final day.
This championship layout requires very good long iron play as many of the Par 4's measure well over 450 yards, and a great putting stroke to manage the undulating greens. George Coetzee ranked first in the statistical category of "Putts per Round" during the event and this was certainly his winning advantage over the rest of the field. The Heritage Golf Club, with its beautiful surroundings, perfectly manicured playing surfaces and complimentary clubhouse facilities and services has now firmly cemented its position as the Indian Ocean's premier golf resort. The tremendous television exposure received during the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open will certainly bolster the position of Mauritius as one of the world's premier golf destinations. Happy golfing!
