Prepare to crack up with world famous comedian Russell Peters
Comedy fans
can prepare to crack up from unbridled laughter in February 2015 when Canadian
funnyman, Russell Peters, unleashes his unique, globally-renowned brand of
stand-up on Gauteng audiences. He is in South Africa as part of his Almost Famous World Tour and will grace
the stage the Big Top Arena, Carnival City, on 5 and 6 February 2015.
A
sought-after comedian internationally, Peters has set records for sales and
attendance at his shows around in the world. In 2007, he was the first comedian
to sell-out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, in 2009 he set another sales record at
London’s 02 Arena when he sold over 16 000 tickets to his show, and in 2010, he
performed for an audience of over 13 800 in Sydney, Australia, which was the
largest stand-up comedy show in Australian history. His 2012 Notorious World Tour is also one of the
biggest comedy tours ever. The tour took Peters to 26 countries and over 200
performances, with over than 300 000 fans attending his shows globally.

Almost Famous World Tour – presented
in South Africa by MNet - features all new material and is laced with
lightning-fast improv with the audience. The Almost Famous World Tour will also feature Russell's Official Tour
DJs; Toronto's DJ Starting from Scratch and New York City's DJ Spinbad, as well
as video cameras and screens for an up-close and intimate show in an arena
setting.
This
tour will mark Peters' sixth performance at the Air Canada Centre, a feat no
other comedian has achieved. In addition to South Africa, the Almost Famous World Tour will take
Peters to New York's Madison Square Garden as well as Los Angeles' Nokia
Theatre in November and December. In February and March 2015, Peters will take
the tour to Australia and New Zealand, with more international dates to be
announced.
Peters
can currently be seen as a judge on NBC's Last Comic Standing,
alongside Roseanne Barr and Keenen Ivory Wayans. Peters can also be seen in Jon
Favreau's critically acclaimed movie Chef.

on the Forbes List as one of the top ten Highest Earning Comics in the U.S.
since 2009, Peters has spent the past 25 years building a career to become one
of the biggest comics in the world. Peters has also performed for the troops in
Afghanistan, Iraq and on the USS Eisenhower and HMCS Winnipeg,
and appeared on TheTonight Show with Jay Leno, Lopez Tonight,
Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and
on HBO, CNN, MTV, BBC and Al Jazeera. Peters' 2010 memoir, Call Me Russell,
was a Globe and Mail number one bestseller in Canada.
