“We have been very blessed to provide luxury accommodation and pleasant stays to guests for ten years” Mr Sequiera explained. “We thought it would be appropriate to plough back some goodness and are happy to hand over a cheque of R10 000 to Radio Jacaranda’s Good Morning Angel/ Christmas fund. They have been doing some sterling work and we would like to support their effort.”

Along with its 10th birthday the Kloofzicht brand
received a fresh face and new look: “The Kloofzicht
Hotel and Kloofzicht Spa
logos have undergone a nip and tuck, leaving it clean and simple; the websites
have been revised and now sport user friendly Wordpress formats enabling the
user to engage with more ease with the lodge and its social media components.
The new format is exceptionally mobile/ cell friendly,” Guvon Hotels Group
Marketing Manager Christa Badenhorst explains.“One of the first applications for our new logo is our 10 year celebration wines, bottled and printed by Delheim who has been a loyal supporter and supplier since we opened,” Ms Badenhorst concluded.
The vision for this
venue comes a long way and Managing Director of Guvon Hotels & Spas Kosie
Pansegrouw shared his dream with us:
“Fourteen years ago I had a vision to establish an exclusive
5 star lodge creating an experience similar to one in the Dullstroom
area, combining fly fishing with a typical Bushveld feel”, says Mr Pansegrouw. “This
had to be complete with game and birdlife, within easy reach of Johannesburg
and Pretoria. Legislation proved tricky – it took four years to get approval -
but once we had the go ahead it only took ten months to build and furnish
the first phase of Kloofzicht Lodge. By popular demand the next two phase were
completed within 5 years after opening, which included Kloofzicht Spa.”
“Looking forward, our main focus is to increase the customer base
by introducing new products and activities to our market as well as paying
strict attention to service delivery and the adaption thereof to satisfy the
ever changing needs of our corporate or leisure guests. Unfortunately, rooms
and facilities expansion is not possible at this stage due to strict
development legislation within the Cradle of Humankind despite the obvious
advantages it would have for tourism to this archeologically rich area. Hopefully
the mind-set of the authorities will change in the not too distant future to
allow us to eventually develop Kloofzicht Lodge to its full potential”.
