PEERMONT EMPERORS PALACE CHARITY MILE COMES TO TURFFONTEIN ON 5 NOVEMBER It’s a race day unlike any other, where 16 worthy charities are paired with 16 celebrities, 16 media houses and of course 16 top thoroughbreds for a day of world-class horseracing, entertainment and plenty of excitement. The Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile will take place on Saturday, 5 November 2016 at Turffontein Racecourse. The main race on the day boasts prize money of R1 million, but even more significant is the R1 million in prize money which will be divided between the charities on the day. The winning charity will receive R150 000, second place will receive R100 000 with all 14 other charities getting proportionate amounts of the total donation, depending on the allocated horse’s placement. Women are the better spenders when it comes to credit cards  29 August 2016 – Women spend less than men in nearly every category of credit card expenditure, including online shopping, when compared to men, and they are more conscientious about paying off their card says FNB Credit Card.  “There is a common misperception that women tend to overspend on credit cards, especially on non-essential items such as retail shopping; however, data shows that their male counterparts spending far outweighs women’s and are less responsible when it comes to paying off their cards,” says Chris Labuschagne, CEO of FNB Credit Card.  Men spend on average 32% more on food and retail than women, with an average of R470 a month. They spend a whopping 60% more on fuel than women. Top local hockey action coming to SuperSport SuperSport International has concluded an exclusive five year deal to broadcast selected matches from the Premier Hockey League (PHL) – The South African Hockey Association’s (SAHA’s) new elite hockey competition, which launches in September 2016. For the 2016 event, 24 of the 40 PHL games, including all semi-finals and both finals, will be broadcast live across all SuperSport platforms, including television, mobile and online - throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. A further eight PHL games will be streamed exclusively live via the SuperSport website and will be repeated, on a delayed basis, on selected SuperSport broadcast channels. “This is a very exciting moment for hockey in South Africa and is a key part of the SA Hockey Revolution strategy that we launched a few months ago.
